Il fiume mwbwGomti chiamato anche mwcaGumti o mwcqGomati è un fiume dello Stato dell'mwcgUttar Pradesh in mwcwIndia, affluente del mwdaGange .Secondo la mwdqmitologia indiana il fiume è la figlia di mwdgVasishtha e bagnarsi nelle sue acque nel giorno di Ekadashi può lavar via tutti i mweapeccati.Secondo il mweqBhāgavata Purāṇa il Gomti è uno dei fiumi più sacri dell'india.

Geografia

Il fiume Gomti nasce a mwfaGomat Taal (chiamato anche mwfqFulhaar jheel) vicino Madho Tanda, nel mwfgDistretto di Pilibhit, presso il confine con il mwfwNepal. Con i suoi 900 km il fiume scorre lungo l'Uttar Pradesh, attraversa la città di mwgaLucknow e arriva fino al fiume Gange che incontra vicino a mwgqSaidpur nel mwggDistretto di Varanasi. Anche le città di mwgwLakhimpur, mwhaSultanpur e mwhqJaunpur sorgono sulle rive del Gomti.
